Corrections to the first printing

 

Page 45: Richard Trueman took this photo of Reco Avenue in 1895.

 

Page 203: States the Reco Hotel “closed in early 1906 and stayed shut for nearly a year.” In fact, the hotel closed on May 29, 1906 and reopened on Jan. 16, 1907, following a fire that destroyed the Filbert Hotel. William Bennett of the Filbert then took over the Reco and his guests moved there en masse.

Page 253: In addition to Johnny and Alma Harris, the photo at top left shows Elizabeth Hanna and brothers Virginio and Santo Celente.

Page vii: The metric equivalent of a troy ounce (which is what the precious metals mentioned in the book are weighed in) is 31 grams, not 28 grams.
